Identifying the direct target genes of response regulators (RRs) of a bacterial two-component system (TCS) is critical to understand the roles of TCS in bacterial environmental adaption and pathogenesis. Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae is an important respiratory bacterial pathogen that causes considerable economic losses to swine industry worldwide.
