Glucocorticoid?induced tumor necrosis factor receptor (GITR) is expressed at high levels on CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells (Tregs). Following activation by its ligand (GITRL), GITR influences the activity of effector T cells and Tregs and participates in the development of numerous autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, including asthma.
