Tuberculosis is an airborne infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis . BCG is the only approved vaccine. However, it has limited global efficacy. Pathogens could affect the transcription of host genes, especially the ones related to the immune system, by inducing epigenetic modifications.
