Nesfatin-1 (NF-1)， an anorexic nucleobindin-2 (NUCB2)-derived hypothalamic peptide， acts as a peripheral cardiac modulator and it can induce negative inotropic effects. However， the mechanisms underlying these effects in cardiomyocytes remain unclear.
