Microglia/macrophages are recognized as major contributors to brain inflammation
after an ischemic stroke, which is metabolically characterized by oxygen and glucose
deprivation (OGD). The impact of OGD on the expression of inflammasome-related
proteins within microglia/macrophages remains unclear. Herein we report that OGD
upregulates the expression of Aim2, ASC, caspase-1, NRLP3 and ultimately IL-1β in microglia and bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDM).
