Plasmonic nanoparticles are increasingly utilized in biomedical applications including imaging, diagnostics, drug delivery, and plasmonic photothermal therapy (PPT). PPT involves the rapid conversion of light into heat by plasmonic nanoparticles targeted to a tumor, causing hyperthermia-induced cell death.
